EFS Public Works presents
A Roundtable Discussion on the Worldwide Occupy Movement
with contributions from Nat Hurley, Sourayan Mookerjea, Imre Szeman,
& Occupy Edmonton Outreach Members
University of Alberta | Humanities Centre(HC)-L3 | Wednesday, Oct. 26, 3:30
The worldwide occupation movement has erupted with a force many of us
didn’t expect. Over the past week, the Occupy Edmonton group has
managed to a) grow in numbers, b) self-organize into an autonomous
body with infrastructure, space and relations otherwise blocked in the
sequence we’ve been living through, and c) collectivize in solidarity
in order to stave off a threat of eviction by Melcor and the police.
What comes next, however, has everything to do with how we imagine and
construct our current condition.
EFS Public Works invites you to a roundtable discussion on worldwide
occupy movement. We all have more than enough intellectual cynicism to
feed pages of critique; what we’d like is to formalize strategic,
intellectual, political and theoretical pressure in order to both
reconfigure and expand together.
