Occupy Edmonton Wiki

Welcome

Welcome to the official Occupy Edmonton Wiki. This page will be used to create various press releases, news articles, and pamphlets using a consensus-based model.

Get started

Hover over "Wiki" on the left side panel, and then click on "List Pages". From here you can either create a new page, or edit the old ones, keeping in mind that you cannot edit the home page.

An account is not necessary for making edits to Wiki pages. However, registering will allow you the added benefit of seeing the most recent changes to wiki articles.

Star How It Works

  • The Occupy Edmonton Wiki is open from Sunday to Friday, allowing anyone to create, write, edit, and rename articles.

  • On Saturday, the Wiki will be locked as so that people will have a chance to reach consensus on which articles are complete, and which still need more revisions. A news post will be made on the Occupy Edmonton Facebook page asking everyone for their opinion.

  • If you wish to block an article, you can either reply to the Facebook news post, or make a comment directly on the article itself. In order for your block to be counted, you must include a reason for making the block.

  • Articles that don't receive a block before Sunday will be posted on the Occupy Edmonton web page for anyone to print out and place around the city.

Active Features

Wiki

Our Wiki uses a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, meaning that if you have any experience in text editing programs (such as WordPad or Word Press), you should have few problems. Traditional Wikipedia coding is available, but not recommended, as to avoid confusion.

File Galleries

File Galleries are used in order to store images that may be displayed in your Wiki Pages. You can also upload images directly from the editor, but if you want to use an image in more than one article, it may be quicker to upload them to the File Gallery.
